The January 1, 1964 the BBC broadcast the first episode of Top of the Pops live from a disused church in Manchester. Passed its stage classic rock names in its heyday as The Who, The Kinks, AC / DC, and flashed the flamboyant glam of Bowie, Alice Cooper and Queen.
From ABBA to Deep Purple, Madonna to Nirvana. Beginning Saturday, April 10 and over 12 thematic programs compiled by the BBC, TCM presents Collection Top of the Pops with the most notable of the files in this real cult show that will see the best of four decades of culture pop.
